This cruise was chosen primarily for its itinerary and also for the fact that it was a brand new ship.

We flew into Athens on the Sunday as the cruise was starting on the Tuesday, which gave us a full day in Athens to explore and relax before the cruise.

On arrival at Pireaus we experienced no real problems with check in as we got there about 11 am. However, we had a new person checking us in, who said that we had to go to Guest Services onboard to register our credit card (which we had already done online) and then didn't give us any map of the layout of the ship.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8B

You could hear a little bit of noise from the Havana bar which was two decks down, but overall it was generally quiet. Main cabin door you had to let bang into its frame in order that it would lock itself. If you tried to close it quietly it did not lock and you could push it open again. However, it looked as though it was locked. Balcony door, as other reviewers have stated bangs, but you could close that one to quietly so long as you held it whilst doing so.

Other quirks this particular cabin had was a squeaky toilet lid which went down in half inch stages creaking all the way and an extractor fan which developed a piercing whistle half way through the cruise. Problem was solved by unscrewing the main section and leaving it on the side.

Port Reviews

Taormina (Messina)

Very very breezy at the top of Mt Etna. Taormina very pretty

Florence (Livorno)

Lovely to see Florence from the high viewing point. Went to see David in the museum. Then to Pisa on the way back.
