We enjoyed the cruise but not the ship layout. For example, The Pearl and Jewell have an open deck at the back to sit and eat right outside the buffet. We really missed that. Had to go an search for a quite place similar. Did not like have the waterfront restaurants. Seemed they were hardly used by anyone. Just in the way of areas that could have been used for seating outside. The theater was small, nothing elegant like other ships. Got the impression they were trying to cater to the rich instead of the common person.

Entertainment was not the best either. Too many repeat shows(because the theater couldn't hold many people) We were accustomed to a new show every night. That is something we looked forward to. Not on Getaway. Being a freestyle cruise, it was aggravating having to make reservations to see shows. We made some but didn't keep them. Walked in without a problem. Seemed to be a ploy to get people to come.

Service was great. Tendering was good in Belize. Preferred the boats they used verses the lifeboats used in the past. Read more
