I chose Athem because at the time we made the reservations Anthem was a new and exciting ship. I was disappointed in several things, although it is a beautiful, ship. I think that 20 somethings will enjoy all the sports on board. I found there very little to do otherwise on board. While on Allure I was able to take classes if I wanted you on sea days.

The dining situation on Athem I think is awful. We were told in November it's reverting back to the standard dining room and the any time dining dining room. Having to reserve a different dining room and time was tedious as you couldn't necessarily get the time you wanted. We were fortunate to meet Velina in the Silk restaurant and the Windjammer. If you are fortunate enough to come across her on ship tell her the travelers from Fl with the food allergies say hi. What a doll. She went out of her way and made sure everything was great. Also in the Silk restaurant was our phenominal waiter Ivon. He is humorous and good at what he does. If you're going to Silk ask to be in Ivons section.

We were not thrilled with the ports although many loved them. We had issues in Portland as there was heavy rain, the gangplank was very slippery and they wouldn't let us off the ship. Royal made good on our tour ( the only one we booked through Royal). The entertainment was good. The "We will Rock you" -and ""Spectra" shows were terrific. Not sure about the show " The gift" The comedian was very good as well.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D3

Cabin attendant Antoine was excellent. Cabin was clean and well stocked and even brought us extra hangers without our even asking. There was plenty of storage and a larger balcony. Tight getting from one side of the cabin to the other around the bed, but I would book this cabin again. Near the elevators but not directly in front so there was no external noise.
