We are a couple in our mid-30s. No kids, and not traveling with anyone else.
Pre-Cruise hotel: Crowne Plaza airport and cruise terminal.
- Nice location, if it wasn't so hot and humid, we honestly could have simply strolled to the terminal :)
I love getting balconies for 2 main reasons:
- Enjoying coffee while watching the ocean
- Watching pier runners
This particular cabin was close to perfect. Overall, everything was clean and tidy. Plenty of storage space.
Location: Right behind Giovani's on Deck 8. Close to the elevators and stairs, and within stumbling distance of Central Park. It was always quiet inside the cabin, and there was a predictable amount of noise on the balcony when the band would be playing.
Extra balcony space: The extra space was nice. It didn't feel quite as cramped as a standard balcony.
Bathroom: we got 2 bar soaps, which I wasn't expecting (was only expecting the goop and 1 bar). It was a small thing, but it made a difference. I like the bar better than the goop, and one bar lasted the two of us almost all week. We ended up moving the one we used for hand washing to the shower for disembarkation day. The shower itself is very small. It's a cylinder, and there was enough room to stretch my elbows out to either side, but that's it. No hanging line in the shower either, so I used some of those towel clips to clip our wet swim suits to the top of the shower.
Outlets: We asked our stateroom attendant where more outlets were as we could only find the 3-outlet on on the vanity. There's also one under the headboard (balcony side in this cabin) and one under the vanity where the chair scoots in.
Orientation: sofa is next to the balcony. The TV is in an awkward spot not really in front of the sofa or the bed. Not a big deal, but a little odd.
Fort Lauderdale is pretty ok. The pier is not super close to anything, but it's drivable.
