We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We had traveled on Celebrity before (Millennium/Alaska) and were very happy so had no reservations cruising with Celebrity again. There were 7 couples traveling more-or-less together, ages 58-78. We started our trip ahead of time with the City Stay package in Rome and were very happy with the hotel (Grand Hotel Palace) and the excursions. Transfer airport to hotel was not ideal, it was confusing finding the Celebrity rep. then we had to schlep our luggage ourselves out of the terminal, across to the parking garage in to the waiting van which was not an ideal situation after 12 hours of traveling. Most of us booked concierge class cabins and were very happy with the accommodations. The rooms were spacious (in cruise ship terms) with plenty of storage space. Not sure if the benefits provided for the class were worth it though, the daily "canapes" provided weren't very good, robes provided were very heavy... next time I would just book an equivalent balcony cabin and save some money. Dining was very good, typical cruise cuisine. We only ate in one of the specialty restaurants (Murano) which was outstanding though others in our party ate in the Tuscan Grill (reported very good) and Q-Sine (not very good). We only attended 2 shows which were very good (4 Tenors of Rock and Beatles tribute band), the others' in the group said the rest of the shows were hit-or-miss. Service in all areas was very good and the ship itself was very well kept. Some of the ports visited were not for the faint-of-heart, very strenuous with a lot of hills/stairs and very crowded (I will review the ports under the "port review" section). We did not book any excursions offered (other than those included in the City Stay in Rome) but did things on our own in each port and found it very easy to use public transportation/trains. One of the couples did an excursion to Florence though, and were happy with the way it went. All in all, we visited the places we've dreamed about for years and are glad we did it in this manner, we were generally happy with Celebrity.

Concierge Class 2

Cabin C2

Spacious and clean. Bring your own bathrobe, the ones provided are very heavy. Our cabin attendant "Kate" was delightful.
