The speakers were outstanding. The waiters and room attendants were excellent, as usual. The ship's cabins are starting to show a bit of aging. I understand that the Solstice is going into dry dock for some updates soon, so maybe that will be addressed. Most of the nightly entertainment in the theater was pretty good--we enjoyed the people they brought in more than their own productions. However, every show we attended was way too loud. We (and others) left shows because of the noise level. A hint--we discovered half way through the cruise that there are free ear plugs available at the guest relations desk.
The only specialty restaurant we used was the Tuscan Grill. It was wonderful. I found the menu in the main dining room for main courses a bit difficult for me to find items I would enjoy. Desserts--no problem. The Windjammer menu was the same old same old and we tried to avoid going there. It is crowded at mealtimes, although the staff does try to clear tables as quickly as possible and are always very helpful.
In Maui we took "The Road to Hana". Be aware that it is a very long day. There are beautiful waterfalls and lovely views but after a couple of hours I had seen enough. The excursion lasted approximately 11 hours. All the tour guides on the excursions from the ship were very good.
