Sail Date: Sep 2016
Cabin: Mini-Suite with Large Balcony

We have only sailed on NCL once before, swore that we would never do it again. Our travel agent came up with a deal that we couldn't refuse, so we decided to go ahead an try one more time....actually twice since we are going on Norwegian Getaway tomorrow.

Embarkation was a breeze. We were upgraded to a mini-suite, so we were happy with that. There was virtually no line as we checked in, no line to get onboard and then....wham! The main decks (6, 7 & 8) were absolutely packed. Went up to the pool area, there wasn't a lounger to be found anywhere and the pools (two pools a little bigger than you might have in your back yard) each had about 100 people in them. It was unreal! The first day remained about the same as far as crowded went until about 10 pm, then things settled down and the rest of the cruise it seemed as though the crowd had dispersed somewhat. The pool area remained packed like that for the rest of the cruise, so we just avoided that particular area.

The ship is beautifully done. Very modern, dark wood and chrome fittings. Looks very elegant and pleasing. Our cabin was 8718. I had read some reviews that it moved around a lot because it was on the front of the ship. We didn't experience that. There were a few nights that the sea was a little rough, but we were nice and still in the cabin. The balcony for that room is a large balcony. It wasn't too windy on the balcony as long as you sat back from the rail. It was hot out there though, until the ship turned around and we were on the shady side. Our cabin steward introduced herself right away.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Large Balcony

Cabin M6

The cabin was nice. Large shower and large balcony. We didn't experience any problems with ship movement because we were so far forward. The balcony can be windy when underway, but if you sit a little bit away from the rail it isn't a problem. The cabin was big enough, but if you are used to other cruise lines' mini suites, you might be shocked at how small these are. The closet is right next to the bed, so make sure that your traveling partner gets their clothes out for the morning before you go to bed (especially if they get up early). One word of warning: Although we didn't have any walkers/wheelchairs/scooters, there were some on the ship that did. These rooms will not accommodate any of those things. The doorway and passageway through the room is much to small for anything other than a person to walk through.
