We were on the NCL Escape Sep 10-17, 2016 and had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this cruise and NCL. The new ship is beautiful and has so many lovely places to sit outside and enjoy a drink or a snack. I am in my late fifties, and husband is in his seventies. We booked the cruise directly with NCL about 10 days prior to departure.

The embarkation was very smooth, and we were on the ship by 1:30 which gave us lots of time to unpack and explore the ship. We pack carry-on luggage so just boarded ourselves and didn’t have to wait for any delivery. We booked a balcony guarantee room, and had a room on the 10th deck, very forward (10116). It was a little hike to get to the aft of the ship, but we got used to it. The balcony room was spacious. Nice big closet with shelves next to it and lots of cabinets under the TV to store gear. Some people complain about the closet doors, but we found it very easy to get our stuff in and out. Bedding was great and we used the balcony a lot for breakfast, reading, sunning, snacks.

We really loved The Cellars, the Mondavi wine bar, especially sitting outside at the high top table so you could see over the railing. We bought the wine package (4 bottles) and were able to order them from any restaurant or bar. The NCL staff even gave us the setup for our Tinta Veranos no charge (orange slices, ice, sprite).
