We chose Norwegian again because of recent good experiences and this particular itinerary. From the first day, we were burdened with a room directly under the Garden Buffet, where they apparently spend all night moving food, washing dishes, etc. It was unbelievably noisy and right over our cabin. All night long. Coupled with very mediocre food, particularly tasteless desserts, problems with getting credit for our prepaid items, spending way too much time with Guest Services....they just don't have their act together on the Dawn. Worst experience in our 19 cruises. Entertainment (other than Second City) was sub-par, worst comedian we ever saw. Very very limited activities on the Canada portion of the trip, like they knew the older crowd weren't sophisticated about being entertained. Absolute minimal communication from the captain on weather or sea conditions. We were sad and frustrated, having had other good cruises with Norwegian. This experience will absolutely turn us back toward the other cruise lines.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IA

Noisy. All night. Moved to #11609, same exact problem. People/cabins should not be located under such noise. Finally moved to #8122 which was quiet, but much smaller.

Port Reviews

Halifax

We found Halifax limited in sights to see. We bought Hop on Hop off bus passes and saw everything in about 1.5 hours. Large naval base city.

Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island)

The best port on our itinerary. We hired a private tour driver and shared with another couple from the ship. We saw the whole island, got off the beaten track and learned so much about the history, people and culture.

Gaspe

Very foggy the whole day, but we took a ship excursion to Perce. About an hour by bus....No clear visibility and raining. Shopped and had lunch at a place frequented by locals - excellent food. Beautiful area, we were sad it was a bad weather day.

Saguenay

Not much to do in Saguenay, but picturesque and very nice locals. Shopped and had a nice lunch.

Quebec City

Loved Quebec City!!! As close as you'll get to Paris in N America. Worth staying over a day or two - we booked directly for a city sightseeing tour, ate, shopped, met many locals and thoroughly enjoyed the time we added to the end of the cruise.
