The service on board was great and we found that all the staff and crew were friendly and helpful. The food was a little repetitious however for a 14 night cruise, that it sometimes to be expected. Usually the standard was good, however when using the self service buffet it was sometimes somewhat chaotic, although usually when excursions got back late after a very long day and there were hundreds more people eating in the buffet rather than the restaurant. We have not cruised with Royal Caribbean for some years, using mainly NCL.

We found the ship not adequately equipped with sufficient seating within the bars and cafes, many times not being able to find a seat to have a drink or cup of coffee. Crowds of people would converge into the Promenade only to find that they had to wander aimlessly around looking for places to sit, so not good in that respect. We felt that standards were not as high as on other ships we had experienced and cost cutting by RCI was certainly noticeable. All in we enjoyed the holiday and the excursions we booked with RCI were both enjoyable and well organised.

Cabin Review

Cabin E1

Was quite basic however most things were there and was probably on a par with those experienced on other cruise lines. Bed linen could have been changed more frequently but when asked they did change it immediately, however our cabin staff did an adequate job overall. However if you are travelling into the Med from Souithampton, do not pick this cabin as it does not get sun on the balcony at any time during the whole trip or whilst in ANY of the ports. Disappoining in that respect.

Port Reviews

Southampton

Boards and disembarking in Southampton is an absolute dream compared to many other ports we have experienced.

Gibraltar

Didn't see much in Gibraltar as we had been there before, hence no tour, but as my husband needed to visit an emergency dentist and we were taken to one who saw him within 30 minutes, it was absolutely great.

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Just walked around the city (Ajaccio) and enjoyed the ambience. Nice town.

Seville

This was our 2nd visit to Cadiz and we once again enjoyed touring the shops and cafes and despite the fact that our visit was quite short 10.30 - 2.30 pm we managed to fit in quite a lot. Well organised port.

Malaga

Having been to Malaga many times, we just walked and enjoyed the ambience. Great visit.
