We are both platinum Cunarders, so not much to say but the ship lived up to expectations with TRUE White Star service. The crew and staff made us feel at home. One dining room maitre'd even remembered our names and this time it's been 26 months since our last visit! That was impressive and he didn't look, either as my partner uses his MIDDLE name as a name and not the passport (first) legal name so he didn't peek...he remembered!
The Queen has the best staff on the seas...from the pools to the TV to the internet the ship functions flawlessly and the crew makes things happen. Unlike the not-so Grand Princess (see our other review) we took over, this return from the UK was professional, we were not nickel and dimed to buy this or that every 5 minutes and things like washers in the laundries were still free ($1/wash and 50¢ dry on Grand Princess).
Activities and cruise staff were NOT obtrusive but things like the RADA classes, plays and the movies were well-attended. They do need to tweak the focus on their planetarium (only one at sea) as it was often out by a bit, but it's also free, fun and the shows were great in there. We did many activities from art lessons (painting) to pool time to the Canyon Ranch Spa. The spa is worth noting went out of their way for passengers. They had some PH problems in the main pool, closing it several days and refunded $20 of EVERYONE who bought a week's pass, meaning you got four days, paid for just 3 and were treated kindly.
Great cabin...they do need to upgrade TVs to flat screens but am sure that's coming. Bathroom was adequate, but needed a light in the shower (do they hope you can "feel" your way?) The balcony was a nice upgrade they gave us, but regardless inside or out we love all the spaces on QM2.
