First river cruise.Will not be the last as all aspects of it were first class. Had several ocean cruises, difficult to compare but the big difference for us was at the end of an ocean cruise you feel exhausted and in need of a holiday, at the end of this river cruise we both felt so relaxed. The excursions which are built into the initial price are top notch and great value. The cruise director Sheryl Galpin is an expert at her job and is a great asset for this company. The ratio of crew to passengers is about 1 to 4 and all of them are excellent. The head chef really knows his stuff, plenty of regional food and at pre dinner drinks he gave his recommendation from the menu. If you want a relaxing holiday this is a great way of seeing several places in a comfortable manner. Emerald Waterways are good at the admin and about 2 weeks prior to this holiday you receive the final paperwork, a nice touch is you also receive 2 top quality rucksacks. About 5 days prior to departure you also receive a phone call to check if you have any questions. A very professional company to deal with.
