We had seen many Countries over the past few years, so it was now time to visit our own for a change. Queensland is always a favorite destination for us both, and this trip was no exception. Seas were calm, the ship sat very well in the water, and had a real friendly atmosphere, and the weather remained very mild and pleasant throughout.
The Sun Princess still does have its blemishes, which did spoil what could have been a simply perfect vacation. We were very disappointed to see that the normally free Dairy Queen ice cream bar, had been replaced with a full price New Zealand Ice cream shop, and this also effected the serving of ice cream in the buffet. Also it was disappointing to learn that our favorite Pizza Bar on Deck 8 had been replaced with another Pay as you go restaurant.
We did order a pizza with room service one night, however the pizza we received was very bland and ordinary, and with absolutely no choice as to the toppings available to build your own pizza,
Our Cabin was comfortable and clean, however we found it very small by other balcony comparisons we had experienced in the past. The New beds are comfortable, however I do prefer the beds on the Holland America ships. The bathroom and closet areas are very cramped, and the airconditioning unit never seemed to provide any cool air throughout the entire holiday. Thankfully we had a Balcony, which allowed us to open the door, and let in the ocean breeze each afternoon and evening as required.
Beautiful Harbour and cruise departure port.
Lovely Port, with plenty to see and do from.
