I had an 8C balcony Cabin (7396) alone for this cruise, but I was not on the ship alone. I was traveling with my sister and her family.
First, I'd like to comment on Embarkation. We flew into Miami on the morning of the cruise. We had an assigned check in time of 10:30-11 am. We checked in at the airport at this time. From the airport we each payed the $16 transfer fee for transportation to the port. We were probably at the port terminal around 11:30. We then got in the security line. We were done the security line by about noon and were seated in the terminal to wait for boarding. Boarding was delayed until about 1:30. Our understanding was that it was delayed due to at least one wedding party boarding. We saw the wedding party board and then about 20 minutes later everyone else was allowed to board. Of course we had to wait behind priority and FTTF because we didn't book those. By the time we got on board we went to check if our rooms were ready, mine was but my sister's was not. They dropped their things in my room and we headed up to the Lido deck for lunch.
Let me speak regarding the cabins first. They were very clean and seemed to be fairly well maintained (my coffee table was wobbly). They decor is somewhat outdated, but that really didn't bother me. My sister immediately complained that their cabin was hot, so they contacted maintenance immediately. My cabin was initially cold. Once maintenance checked their cabin, they discovered the vent in the ceiling had been almost closed, presumably by a previous guest that preferred a warmer room. Once the vent was reopened, their room was much more comfortable. As for mine, I determined throughout the trip that on the days we were in port my room would become very uncomfortably warm. Closing the balcony drapes did seem to help a bit with this though. Once the ship was underway again, the air conditioner would work better and my room was always more comfortable in the evening.

Could have skipped this tour, would have been better off to just stay in the Amber Cove resort. Not really anything to see once you left the resort, except we did see one nice beach but the tour didn't even let you out there.
