Chose the cruise line based upon their all inclusive model, luxury experience, newness of the ship, and itinerary in this case, Nuremburg to Budapest with an add-on stay in Prague. Particularly appealing were the Tailormade devices used on the cruise and excursions that provided clear, informative history on POI. The scenic enrichment involved an evening concert in Vienna in a historic building that was exceptionally beautiful and the concert was excellent.
The Scenic Amber is a new ship, launched in April. The onboard service was excellent and the staff very accommodating and first rate in service. The food was exceptional. Good diversity of choice, presented beautifully as in any fine U.S. restaurant, and plentiful. The breakfast buffet was excellent with choices from the buffet as well as off the menu. Lunch could be a buffet in the main dining room, or quick snack type food for the River Cafe.
The ship is beautifully appointed...clean, shiny, and well maintained. The room steward was exceptional, keeping towels, amenities, and the like in order each time leaving the room...but totally unobtrusive.
Cabin Review
As noted above, the cabin was small but exceptionally well organized to maximize the space. The bed was very comfortable and roomy offering adjustable electric adjustments for each side. The bathroom was generous for the area, the rain shower was fantastic, as were the toiletries plentiful.
The power window at the balcony of each suite provided an opportunity to bring the outdoors in and enjoy not only fresh air, but the scenery traveling down the river.
