Well, only couple years ago there were several Royal Caribbean ships in the cruise critic top 10 list. Now, there is none. And there is a reason for it. The first thing I noticed after boarding this ship, Royal Caribbean is trying to cut the cost in every corner. The main complain would be food. My previous cruise was with Holland America. There, buffet was as good as the main dining room food. And main dining room food was excellent in HA. In Liberty Windjammer buffet is kind of a disaster. After coming back from Cozumel shore excursion we were very hungry and exhausted. The main dining room is not open for lunch on shore days. So, only option is Windjammer. So me and my wife were looking to eat something decent. All we can find is potato and more potato at every corner. Mashed potato, baked potato, fried potato, long potato, short potato, round potato, square potato ... In a nutshell their buffet was full of carbs and filler items. Main dining room food was decent, nothing special though. In both windjammer and MDR desserts were very ordinary. After trying their 'Creme Brulee' couple of times I was almost temped to go to the kitchen and show them how to make it. 'Creme Brulee' is neither a Caramel Flan nor a vanilla pudding. But it tasted like Flan one day and vanilla pudding the other day. After tried different desserts for 7 days, can't recall anything worth mentioning.

Apart from food the overall maintenance of the rooms was not good. Bed was uncomfortable, pillow and blankets were very cheap.

Embarkation was a very painful process. They were deep cleaning everything and delayed the check-in. So around 2 PM all four thousand people started the process. For us, it took little longer than 3 hours. With an infant it was really painful. However, I won't complain much about it as they were trying to disinfect the whole ship to avoid Norovirus outbreak. Disembarkation was rather fast and easy. In less than 30 minutes I was from ship to my car. And finally one thing definitely worth mentioning is the 'Crew'. Room attendance, Dining room crew, guest service crew all were very friendly and accommodating. Royal Caribbean is becoming 'cheapo' day by day. But their crew are still going above and beyond.

Cabin Review

Cabin E3

Cabin was spacious, had a nice balcony. But overall cleanliness and features were very poor. Bed and pillow were kind of uncomfortable. Toiletries were very cheap.
