We took this cruise as a family vacation. We had 4 adults and 3 children , 12 and 13 years old. We had 3 balcony cabins. This was our 57 cruise and we are all Diamond or Diamond Plus. None of the ports were new as we had been to them many times, but like them. Boarding the ship was chaos. No one knew anything like where should Diamond and Diamond Plus should go.
Our cabins were fine with lots of storage. The steward was ok, but didn't more than he had to. Had to ask for everything like ice, robes and extra towels. The cabin TV was terrible. Never knew what was on as there was no guide. Also for news they only had CNN and HN which never really had news on. Our daughter asked everyday for extra glasses and never got them so he did not get an extra tip. The ship itself reminded us of a shopping mall. High end shops on the side with a bazaar selling cheap stuff in the middle like a kiosk. Made it hard to walk through the area with all the stuff there.
We had early set dining at 5:30. Every day we had to find someone to show us our table as no one offered because no one was at the door to greet you or help. Sometimes they would just point and we found it ourselves. No customer service at all. Our servers were good. The food was so-so. It kept us alive, but was not an enjoyable dining experience which we expect on a cruise. It was a pain to change restaurants every day. The worst of all was Silk. We had 7 bad dinners the one night we ate there. The next time we were to go there, we ate at Windjammer and had 7 good dinners in a half hour rather than the 2 hours in dining room. We like that type of food, but it was not well made and selection was poor. Windjammer for breakfast and lunch was good. Selection was not the best and hard to get a sandwich unless you made your own. We had breakfast in dining room once and the poached eggs were hard boiled and service was very slow. Lunch in dining room once. Half the table went up to Windjammer because menu was poor. Strange stuff, no soups or sandwiches selection or even a burger No lunch items. The pizza anywhere on the ship was like eating cardboard. The 270 had good sandwiches and soups and a good place for lunch. It always crowded so you have to get there early. Coffee was good all over and nice selection of tea.
Cabin was comfortable and fine for the 9 days
New port better then the old one.
Good view if you have a good day.
Not much to do.
A great place to walk.
We did the freedom trail.
