This was an experience of a lifetime. Some of the reasons:
- The ship was immaculate. Clean, functional, comfortable, well laid out and modern. We stayed on the lower deck to save some money so our room was a bit small. But the efficiency of the layout made it easy for us to live comfortably for the week. The bathroom was modern and the shower was luxurious (multiple spray heads).
- Staff was better than any cruise we've taken. After the first day, everyone on the staff called us by our first name, including the deck hands that tied up the boat. Wait staff in the dining room remembered what we liked and treated us like family.
While small (we opted for a lower cost cabin), it was comfortable, modern and efficient. Bed was comfortable. We had plenty of light through the window. Bathroom was modern, clean and comfortable. Shower was luxurious. We had complimentary bathrobes, a safe, a mini-bar (included), iPhone-like devices for listening to recorded tour information and butler service. The butler provided laundry service as well as nightly turn down.
We went to the old city and had Bratwurst and the Bratwursthäusle. Then toured the Zeppelin Field and Documentation Center. Amazing couple of days in the city.
