We are Diamond with RCCL and booked this cruise specifically for the itinerary which exceeded our expectations. So much so that we will definitely have to come back and do a land base tour of many of the islands because we just didn't have enough time at each port even though we were there all day at each one of them. We are early fifties, budget travelers and traveled with our 24 year old daughter and friend. We were at every port as scheduled and on time with a very smooth sailing from embarkation to debarkation. Our dining and stateroom attendants were beyond lovely and the Loyalty ambassador JJ was one of the best I have met. The reason for the average rating is the ship and rest of the staff needs improvement or maybe retirement due to the age of the vessel. The rest of the staff outside of our dining and stateroom attendants seemed put out and unhappy. The beds where incredibly uncomfortable (a first for me on this cruise line). Slept better on the pool chairs in the solarium than in the stateroom. Felt literally harassed to sign up for the specialty dining facilities and there were several common area spots on the ship that had a foul sewage odor as you walked through as well as other strong chemical smells in the stateroom areas that smelled like spray paint. Also, most of the ports required additional transportation to get from the pier to the main port area to be toured (wish they would provide free shuttles) Again, our dining and stateroom attendants were wonderful and we miss them A LOT!

Didn't participate much in the ship activities, we were too tired from the port days and used the sea days to catch our breath. Watch out for the pool chair gestapo. I appreciate that they are trying to crack down on chair saving but it was little excessive. Could't even get in the pool for 30 minutes without a sticker being put on my chair. I have to say though, that I would hate to have that person's job and do appreciate them.
