I chose this cruise for the itinerary. Croatia, Montenegro, Athens, Mykonos, Florence, Naples, Rome, Tulon and Barcelona. Its one of the smaller boats.

They spray your hands with sanitizer in every dining entry. Sounds annoying but really this boat has a low incidence of intestinal bugs and this is the reason why. The dining was overall good. All the food seemed exceptionally salty to me. The desserts were fabulous. Lobster was never offered in the main dining room unless you wanted to pay an additional fee. The steaks were an additional fee and room service now is a $7.95 fee with 18% gratuity added.

The entertainment on NCL is just ok. This time it was acrobats, a magician, a violinist, a singer and the NCL crew. The act like cirque de solei was fabulous. The magician show also was very good. The rest just ok. They have karaoke, name that tune, bingo, etc. Lots of activities. The singers in the lounge and the house bands were very good. You are never bored. TV very limited channels but honestly i had no time to watch TV even if i wanted to.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

I always reserve a balcony. The room was adequate. It was in the front of the boat as we didn't want to pay double and took run of house. Smaller in size than the usual balcony. The bathroom which usually is very small with a shower curtain was much bigger on this boat. Plenty of space to store toiletries. No shower curtain!! It had a sliding glass door. It was nice to have an actual shower. Usually the curtain sticks to you when the water is on and the thought that comes to mind is wonder who this was stuck to last week!! The sink in the middle and the toilet on the other side with another sliding glass door. This explains why the room seemed a bit smaller. The bathroom had an awful sulfur smell which they rectified by putting a wet paper towel over the drain. It worked somewhat. There were plenty of towels, tissues and toilet paper at all times. They cleaned the room twice daily Kudos to Eugene!!

Port Reviews

Dubrovnik

We hired a private guide. We went to a lookout where the view was very nice. We did a walk of the town and visited a church and synagogue.

Kotor

After the city tour. We went to an old mill where we tasted the olive oil and local ham and cheese.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

We took their transportation to the train. Free transport to the edge of the port. Then there is a company that for 2 Euro they shuttle you to the train. Buy a round trip ticket. No one told us to and we then upon returning had to wait on a long line. Once at the train we bought a ticket and headed to Rome. We got off at the Vatican from there we walked to Piazza Navona. We had lunch. Then to the Pantheon, next the Trevi Fountain. We took a cab to the coliseum since it was 90 degrees and we were running out of time. There are only two main train stations in Rome. If you don't get on at either of them you will need to take the local train to Termini station to catch the one back to Civitivecchia

Naples

to the left of the dock is the hydrofoil which in 40mins gets you to Capri. We went to the blue grotto company and took a boat tour with them in hopes of getting in the blue grotto. No such luck. The seas were not cooperating. We then came back to the main land and went up the funicular to the town. Had lunch and then headed back to the ship.

Mykonos

No need for a tour. Walk around after tendering. Lots of stores and restaurants. Wind mills, town and a church. Delios is a boat ride away - lots of ruins there. Beaches are 10 - 15mins by cab.

Athens (Piraeus)

We took the hop on hop off. Never even used it. We should have taken a taxi instead. Once in town we visited the Acropolis, the Platka, the parliament to see the changing of the guards. There isn't much else to see there except a museum which we chose not to do. We also had a nice lunch at the Platka

Toulon

Not much to do here. A very boring port. We took a boat ride around the harbor and then walked through the market. We were back on the boat by 1:30pm.

Florence (Livorno)

The ship has a transfer to the train for $15 USD. There were two of us. I'll bet it would have been cheaper to take a cab to/from the train. So we get the train and had to transfer in Pisa on the outbound. The return was direct. Since it was Sunday - we waited long for the train so that left us little time in the city. It was also a free day for all the museums so no chance of getting in any of them.
