We just returned from our Alaskan cruise on the Celebrity Solstice, and I wish I was still onboard! From the very beginning to the very end, our cruise was fabulous. We had sailed on Carnival out of New Orleans before where we found the embarkation and disembarkation to be absolutely horrible. We weren't sure what to expect in Seattle, but I have to say, both were so easy it was amazing.
We drove up from Portland, Oregon and parked in a nearby parking lot where we had reservations at 1:30 PM and took the shuttle to the ship. We were guided through the embarkation lines with ease, and when we entered the ship, we were greeted with a glass of champagne. We then went up to our veranda stateroom #8233 where our attendants Wilfred and Sheldon greeted us warmly. I believe we were in our stateroom around 2:30 or so. Our luggage arrived before we attended the mandatory safety drill at 4:00, and we did our unpacking after the drill. We were completely amazed by the amount of storage in our room! After unpacking, we found we had a lot un space leftover and unused. Our bathroom was very spacious, as was our balcony.
Although we visited most of the bars on board, our favorite was the Martini Bar. The bartenders were amazing, and we loved the frozen bar top. The seating areas in that bar were also our favorite.
Our cabin was very comfortable and spacious with lots of storage space. Both the bathroom and the verandah were larger than expected. Our twin beds were very comfortable, and we slept very well every night! Our cabin attendants Wilfred and Sheldon were amazing!
We really enjoyed walking around Ketchikan, and Creek Street was very interesting.
Skagway provided a nice long walk with interesting stores and history.
We walked from Ogden Point along Dallas Road past Fisherman's Wharf into the City. It was a very nice walk, and we had a nice dinner at the Milestone Restaurant across from the Empress Hotel. We really enjoyed going into Victoria, and we hope to go again.
