We went on this cruise for our anniversary. I did not see an option to put the reason for the cruise and no one ever asked. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, however it would have been much better if the staff at the port in Miami was better trained. The signage for having to check large bags is terrible. It was not clear what the process was and after waiting in line to get through security we had to go back and give it to a baggage handler. He was not personable and was clearly not happy with the tip he received. There was only one person at the door to security. Once inside the person directing us to the correct line just shooed us into line without giving us the health questionnaire which we had to go back and get. We finally got up to the point to take our picture and get our card and the person we had (Horacio) did not speak to us at all until I asked a question. After we boarded we did not get all our bags until several hours and someone had been through my things. One item of clothing was wet (with no spilled liquid in the bag) and I noticed something missing from a sewing kit . I did not want to make a big deal but I did mention it to someone at guest services and I got a terribly indifferent response. Some things were disorganized as mentioned by others such as the dining service in the Windjammer buffet, but the staff was very pleasant and helpful. At Coco Cay there was utter confusion about where and who to go to for things to do. We wanted to Kayak and the person we spoke to in the excursion hut did not know the answer, she asked the other "girls" there and they were talking to each other and no more interested in helping us than "the man on the moon". We figured it out, but were too late for the tour, we had to go to another place for rental and over there they did not know that they were handling that. The person renting the kayaks was not extremely helpful. He basically told us to choose one of the (wet) life jackets to wear because the kayaks sometimes turn over. He told us to stay inside the buoy but provided no other instruction on safety or anything, telling us that is only provided with the tour. Hmmm. The entertainment staff on the ship were good and had a lot of enthusiasm and the shows on the ship were pretty good. We enjoyed the parade of flags (go India). We enjoyed our excursions, but did not book them through the cruise line. One thing I do not enjoy on Royal Caribbean is that you have to (close the lid), touch the toilet every time you want to flush, not very sanitary. Despite all of the potentially negative things we had a great a time, but we will choose much more carefully next time.

Cabin Review

Panoramic Ocean View Stateroom

The cabin did show some wear. When we arrived a few cabinets in the bathroom were broken, but our stateroom attendant made sure that they were fixed. The tissue holder did not work and the table in the room was warped and chipped on the edges.

Port Reviews

Miami

Boarding at this port was not good. Disorganized and unfriendly staff.
