Overall we had a great time on this, our 3rd cruise. We arrived fairly early at the port, around 10:30 AM and had no problems getting on the boat. We were on in less than 30 minutes, there was plenty of parking, shuttle came quickly and we go through the check in reasonably quickly. We had beautiful weather and were able to enjoy the flow rider right away with no line which the kids loved.
Through the cruise I was generally pleased with the service and ship. There was plenty to do, and unlike carribean cruises I've been on there was no problem finding a pool chair! The ship itself had wonderful amenities, though my daughter was sad that the ice rink was not open more often. The Flow Rider was tricky too, given alaska weather it was closed a fair bit. The rock climbing wall generally had a good crowd. The pools were, however, pleasantly warm and my daughter swam the whole trip. Even when it was cold and windy up there you could enjoy the nightly movies from the warm pool.
On the negatives, elevators were horribly slow. Part of this is likely due to the average age on the ship, making walking stairs a bad option for at least half the boat. But you could often end up waiting 10 minutes to try and get an elevator that wasn't full. The smell of smoke was often excessive as well. There was generally enough wind on deck to blow it away quickly but the smell migrated out of the casino and could often be smelled in the interior areas. I also noticed some rust on the outside of the ship and some areas around the pool. Also I wish other cruise lines would follow Disney and keep the kids clubs open all the time.
Seattle is a neat town, though very crowded!
