This was my 3rd Carnival Cruise and first on the Carnival Glory. I went on the cruise with family members but stayed alone in the cabin.
Miami: Stayed the evening before embarkation at the Hampton Inn Brickell. Checked in online and chose my room a few days prior. Cab ride to the hotel from Miami airport was about $30 including tip. Hotel is clean and has free breakfast.
Embarkation: Cab ride from hotel to cruise port was about $30 including tip. Check in and security did not take too long and I arrived during my designated check in window just before 11am. After check in, there was lots of waiting (1.5 hours). Apparently there were customs delays on the previous cruise so we were not able to embark until about 12:45pm. I had Priority Boarding and got on with the Faster to the Fun guests. Made it on the ship around 1 and had lunch.
Decent sized interior cabin. Did get some noise from the Amber Palace theater so be aware if you are a light sleeper, go to bed early or want to take an afternoon nap. I would hear the performers rehearsing in the mid afternoon. Semi-close to the elevators and stairwells and near the front of the ship.
Beautiful beach and island. One of the prettiest places I have ever been.
Did the Skyride to Paradise Point. Nice view of the ships. St. Thomas is a great port for shopping. This was my third visit on a cruise ship.
Short walk to Old San Juan- picturesque buildings and cobblestone streets. Great views from the forts.
Not overly impressed with Nassau. There are many vendors at the cruise port but I find them kind of pushy.
Stayed overnight in Miami prior the cruise.
