Nothing but praise for P&O from start to finish. I've read some negative reviews and I started to wonder if these people are on the same planet as me??? I guess some people have a downer on life and look for someone or something to lift them and if it doesn't happen they criticise. Cabin, Staff, Food and prices on board all excellent and will definitely be booking again. We booked Freedom Dining because it does exactly that - give you freedom to dine. All of the eating places are superb. Even the Buffet Bar has an excellent selection of hot and cold food. Loved it during the day when we needed a snack of wonderful cream assortments. TRIPS:- Yes you can book them all direct yourself with firms outside of P&O but don't think you will save a fortune. Yes you can do it for less but you have to ask yourself if the £20 you save is worth the hassle. That is up to you... but if you do go on the Oceana and there is something you are not happy about see somebody - because I am certain they will sort it. Bon voyage.
Double bed with balcony on deck 11 - excellent. Spotlessly clean and attended more or less around the clock by the most wonderful Philippines oriented staff. Some rust marks on balcony but spotlessly clean - it is an iron vessel in salt water afterall.
Got transport boat in to Venice from Ship - cost about £30 for the two of us. Didn't want to do an organised trip because I wanted to explore Venice at my own pace - this is really easy to do. Did a gondola which is a set price on the streets - and about £30 cheaper than booking on the ship. A gondola is 70 euros for 30 minutes regardless of how many of you there are.
