We chose this cruise to be able to see the Baltic capitals and go to Russia. We though this would be a good way to get a taste of that area of the world. The ports were great. We only missed Helsinki because of weather, so we had an extra sea day. Actually talked to some Fins in Tallin and they said, Helsinki isn't all that haha. Anyway. The Silhouette is a nice ship and is very clean and quite large. Here are my pros and cons of the cruise:
Pros:
Service - Excellent staff, friendly and go out of their way to help you. The captain was very funny.
Stateroom itself is good, nice balcony. The location can be a bit noisy. It's located right below the Oceanview Cafe men's bathroom. So you can hear the toilet flush...a lot! Also the stateroom attendant's closet is right in front of this stateroom. If you like sleeping in, forget it.
Oslo is ok. Not much going on here. Didn't really like it.
Nice walkable city. Do the Rick Steve's tour in his book. It's perfect
Didn't go because of weather
Great walkable city. Do the Vassa Museum first. Take the hop on hop off boat from the cruise doc. You can buy tickets on the boat. Can get around the harbor to see all sites on this boat. Very informative.
Didn't go to Berlin, went to Rostock. Rented a car and drove the 1.5 hours. It was fun driving fast on the Autobahn!
Did hop on hop off bus. Easy to get around the city this way. Very walkable and some nice food. People are friendly.
