This was my 10th cruise on my 5th cruise line.
We usually go on Mega ships in the Caribbean.
I didn't know what to think about Holland America or the Veendam from the other reviews.
The cabin was well maintained.
It was in the front of the ship.
The spa room colors were lighter than the other cabins.
The spa room came with yoga mats, pedometers, vitamin water and a wood shower mat in the bathroom. We also got $30 off signature spa services.
There was a full bath tub/shower in the room.
There was only 1 110 v outlet and 1 220v outlet by the desk. There was 1 110/220 v shaver outlet above the mirror in the bathroom. There is a hair dryer by the desk.
The room had a safe.
There was a small flat screen TV and DVD player.
The room has a small refrigerator with a mini-bar.
There is a small balcony which has 2 chairs and a small table. It was comfortable and I spent many hours on the balcony.
Nice City
Walked around the city. It was difficult to get a taxi as they had a marathon going on.
We booked a private excursion/lobster boat tour with Top Notch tours.
We went for 1 1/2 hours. The kids got to drive the boat and haul up the lobster traps.
After the tour we went for an oyster lunch at Sims and then hired a taxi to take us to the north shore.
We hired a tour guide to take us to Baddeck and then to the Louisburg lighthouse.
I really liked the lighthouse
We booked a tour with the Halifax Tour Guys and went to Peggy's cove to see the lighthouse and then to Lunenburg. While Lunenburg is far 1 hr 30 min away I thought it was worthwhile.
We booked a private tour with At Your Service and toured Acadia national park.
We then went to lunch at the Trenton Lobster Pound.
We had a great day in Bar Harbor.
There was no problem with the tenders.
We did the Duck tour which included the student led Harvard yard tour.
We had dinner in the north end and went to Quincy market and Fenuil hall the next day.
