Background Information - We scheduled the cruise to celebrate my wife's graduation from college with our 2 daughters. Ship Info - carnival Ecstasy Activities - There were some activities like Bingo (10.00 a card), towel folding, and a 30 minute group dance lesson. The activities focused on the casino, trivia games, and laying out on the sun deck. Dining- The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good, but I would not state it as wonderful. That is all we had to do since we did not stop at any ports. Service - The staff was friendly and made cute towels at night for bed. Stateroom- The stateroom was fine, clean, but we had loud nights since the deck was above us. The stacking of the deck chairs made it feel they were coming through the ceiling. Children's Club- The younger kids they kept busy with little activities and movies, but for the 12-14 it was pretty much on their own without supervision. The Camp Carnival and Circle C is not all they make it out to be. Entertainment- I thought our Cruise Director was like a bald Bob Saget. He just got on my nerves. When we needed important information concerning cruise itinerary changes. He made jokes at cruisers expense instead. He sought the spotlight and took it away from the other performers. A show off. Port & Shore Excursions- None, since the swine flu closed the Mexican ports a day after we pulled out, we had no ports for 5 daysSummary- I will not cruise with carnival again. When our ports were canceled, activities were little if none. We were reminded to spend our money at the gift shop or spa. When we returned to port early due to a sick crew member, there was not an apology. I tried to stay positive the entire cruise, but by the end when they did not communicate information and never apologized it was a slap in the face. There is no compensation and you are out of luck. I will not cruise with Carnival again.
