Our travel agent told us Princess did Alaska the best, so we chose a 3 day land tour and 7 day cruise. We had no problem boarding the ship; check-in was done while we were on the rail car from Denali. We had our cruise cards in hand as we left the train.

Our stateroom B402 was roomy with enough closet space. It was our first time having a balcony and that was great. The bathroom left much to be desired. The shower stall was so small you could barely move or keep the water in. Our stateroom steward was attentive and responsive to any needs.

We chose the traditional dining at 5:45 but once onboard the time had been moved up to 5:15. That was too early for us and we missed the best sights at Hubbard Glacier due to early dinner on formal night. The food in Provence dining room was good but not outstanding. Appetizers were often better than the main course. Desserts were very good. Our waiter, Emil, was excellent, entertaining and a wonderful singer. There were several celebrations at our table and he always had a special song. At the Culinary show on the last day, he closed the program singing Andrea Boccelli's "Goodbye."

Many gift shops and historical old buildings. Rainy day in port.
