We chose The Celebrity Eclipse because we enjoyed our previous cruise on there. The only downside on the first cruise was the awful loud pop music playing all over the ship, especially in the Oceanview Cafe. Thankfully they must have listened to the complaints and the music is now very quiet and unobtrusive.

The ship is spotlessly clean and the staff can be seen everywhere on the ship cleaning and polishing to keep it in this pristine condition. The food in the self service Oceanview is the best we've ever had on a cruise. The room is large, bright, clean and the food on offer is fantastic. The choices are English, sushi, Indian and Thai curries, pizzas, pastas, roast meats, masses of salads, breads, cheeses, cold meats etc etc. There is also a large selection of fresh fruit and pastries plus a ice cream counter. It can get crowded and sometimes difficult to find a seat but we always managed and shared tables with some very nice people most times, no problem at all.

The entertainment was ok with most of the speciality acts. We liked the Freddie Mercury tribute show, The MacDonald Brothers and the magician. We didn't enjoy the Cast shows even though the dancers worked their socks off and were very good. The singers though were too shrill and loud. They seem to think that screaming out the songs is the way to sing. To our ears it was really unpleasant. We went to the Singer's Broadway show thinking we would hear some lovely popular musical songs but what we got was some obscure hardly known songs, nothing to tap your feet to. We felt the whole show was a bit self indulgent and showing off on the part of the singers. Others we spoke to felt the same. Less is more and they can obviously sing but please tone it down.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 2

Cabin C2

Good size cabin on the 12th floor. We try to keep quiet about this cabin as it's our favourite in a great location. (Don't tell anyone!)

Lovely big 6 foot wide comfortable bed. Too many pillows and cushions though!

Enough wardrobe space with a lot of hangers but we took a lt with us too and needed them.

The shower room is a good size with large shower cubicle with sling glass doors. Plenty of storage too. The Balcony has too lounge chairs with footstools and a small table.
