Sail Date: Aug 2016
Cabin: Sky Suite 2

We decided at the last minute to go on a holiday and what better way to relax than to go on a cruise. We have sailed with Celebrity before and were not disappointed this time. Because of the last minute, we were able to get a great deal on a Sky Suite. Unlimited internet, premium drink package, all gratuities and a shipboard credit were also included. We've sailed out of Bayonne before, but were most impressed with the new facilities. We had flown in the night before, staying close to the airport. Got a private transfer to the port, arriving by 11:30 a.m. Embarkation was very fast - dropped off luggage, breezed through security and check in, and were on board by 11:45. Very fast! Because we were in a suite, we were taken directly to Michael's Club and then to Luminae for lunch. The room was ready by 1:30, although the luggage didn't arrive until about 3:00 p.m. There was plenty of storage and closet space in our suite (cabin 6101), and in no time our things were all put away with still room for more. Overall the room was smaller than other suites we've been in, but it was fine for what we wanted. The balcony was also on the small side, with only two chairs (no footstools or loungers) and a table. Our butler, Anand, was very helpful brining us breakfast in our rooms most mornings and arranging for us to join a complimentary tour of the bridge. The Bermuda cruise involves 4 days at sea, and 3 days in Bermuda. We soon settled into a routine of breakfast, a swim, relaxation time, lunch, relaxation, Michael's Club for drinks, dinner, and then entertainment. Very relaxing! In Bermuda we did get off the board and as independent travellers took the ferry into Hamilton two days to do some shopping and sightseeing. It did rain 2 out of the 3 days we were there, but that didn't dampen the holiday. We sampled various dining options, including the Tuscan Grill. This was our first time eating in Luminae, and while the service was wonderful, the food was good (not outstanding). I prefer the simpler fare in the MDR. We also enjoyed Michael's Club - a quiet place to sit and have a drink - or a coffee, and read. Too soon the holiday was over. Disembarkation was the best we've ever had. Maya, the Michael's Club concierge, guided us off the boat to our luggage, and then whisked us through customs. Off the boat and ready for our ride to the airport in about 20 minutes.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 2

Cabin S2

The cabin is the smallest of the sky suites. It has a decent size closet, although I did have to ask for extra hangers. The balcony is on the small size, but is good for 2 people to sit on. The a/c worked very well, as did the blackout shades. The bathroom is nice, although the step into the tub/shower is a challenge - there are a number of grab bars that can be used. The bed was comfortable. There are only a few electrical outlets for charging camera batteries and so on, so be warned. Room attendants took immaculate care of the room, and refreshed it at least twice a day.
