We love to cruise but this was the first time on Paradise and it was sadly not paradise at sea. While the staff was friendly enough in most areas of the ship there were many who you could tell just didn't want to be there.
The dining room staff were nice and smiling but the food was a disgrace and whoever the chef or chefs were they should be completely embarrased by the food they serve to guests. This was seriously 2 star dining at best. The food was overcooked, bland, and oh lord how long it took. 2 hours from start to finish if you were lucky. By the 3rd day we said to hell with it and ate at the buffet. Tried again on the last night and left in the middle of dinner because our entree hadn't arrived and we had been there for an hour and a half.
The guy who is at the piano bar, Clark or something like that was a real joy. Sarcasm folks. He didn't smile and you could tell he just didn't care. The other shows were low end at best but at least they seemed to enjoy themselves. It's a shame when the guy singing Family Tradition at karoake was better than the Carnival entertainment. No lie. We skipped the last night of shows because he said he was going to come back and sing more. Best entertainment on ship all week. That's pretty freaking sad.
Rooms were o.k. don't remember the exact room number but we were interior. Felt like I was falling off the bed as it seemed the bed frame was worn down. Nothing special but nothing out of the ordinary for a cruise cabin.
it was the port we left from. It was pretty easy to get around the port.
Grand Cayman was nice but our port time was cut short because of the ships condition.
I had booked an excursion outside of Carnival and had to cancel it because our port time was reduced from 12 to 7 hours or something. The port is a tourist trap to say the least.
