I read alot of reviews that complained about the food and the service as well as statements that the ship is old and in need of work. OK here is my totally honest opinion from someone who has cruised alot with RCCL and has been on old, new and refurbished ships.

Firstly let me say that I put the cabin review under that section so please check it out.

Overall the ship looks great. It is going in for drydock next month so there will be alot of changes..including relocating the suites lounge to the Royal Crown Lounge adjacent to the Diamond Lounge. Additional interior cabins will be located in the current Lounge area. There will also be new specialty restaurants and the cigar lounge will be replaced (likely with Boleros Latin lounge). There will also be new water slides and a flowrider. Cabins are supposedly getting upgraded as well.

Royal Family Suite

Cabin FS

We had the 2-bedroom suite. It was large and clean with tons (and I mean more than you can ever need) storage. There is a queen sized bed in the main bedroom and two twin beds and two pull down berths in the second bedroom. There is also a pull-out sofa. You can probably comfortably fit 8 people in this suite but ideal for 4-6. There is a huge balcony with 2 loungers and a table and chairs for 4. The room was in the back of the ship on deck 9. Overall the furnishings were clean and comfortable but the ship is due for an upgrade so the rooms can use a little upgrading in fabrics and bathroom fixtures..bu that is all cosmetic. The room was great. The balcony, while really nice is technically an obstructed view. Don't let this discourage you. The obstructions are simply the rear structure that wraps around the ship and really doesn't block you. The only downside is that these balconies aren't very private. They are on a tiered portion of the ship so you can see people above and below and they can see you. Also note that online RC shows a picture of the Royal Suite as representative of this room. This is not the case. The Royal Family Suite does not have a piano nor a hot tub. RCCL should fix this. We mentioned it to the Next Cruise people onboard who had no idea this was thew case. But really? You book cruises on this ship and don't know what your web site shows...and nobody has every mentioned this before? Really?
