I would not cruise on Carnival again. I had purchased Faster to the Fun so I will admit that embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly however, these were the only activities on this cruise that did go smoothly. Prior to disembarking we had to do the required safety drill, on other cruise lines they scan your card to ensure you attend and ask you to proceed to your muster station (which is one of the dining halls) where you were able to take a seat and wait for everyone to filter into the area before they proceeded with the drill. On this cruise we were all lead to an outer area (they did not scan card for attendance) of the ship and were asked to form three lines this process required that we all STAND in the heat for 45 minutes until they could get everyone in line and manually count the passengers prior to proceeding with their two minute drill.

During our first port (Dominican Republic) all passengers with Shore excursions were told to meet in the Liquid Lounge, they did not check to see if everyone actually had a Shore excursion so the room was filled to capacity with people that both had shore excursions and did not have shore excursions (There was at least 1000 people). Once the ship was cleared they indicated everyone can can off the ship. This was 1000 people trying to get off the ship at the same time with no orderly disembarkation process (such as section 1, section 2, etc.). It ended up taking us 2 1/2 hours to disembark which resulted in us missing our first shore excursion.

Next the ship actually ran out of Pina Coladas, Coors Light and Heineken. This was a Carribean cruise how can you run out of Pina coladas or any liquor for that matter. The on board entertainment was lame (with the exception of the shows) all they had was Trivia. Lastly I purchased liquor in the on board duty free shop. On the last day of the cruise you are asked to pick up your purchase at 8:00 am. The line to pick up your purchase was rediculious and took me three hours to pick up my purchase. Other cruise lines place your purchase in your room the last night of the cruise. Carnival should send a representative to vacation on a Norwegian or Royal Caribbean cruise and take some pointers on how to actual run a cruise ship.

Cabin Review

Balcony

I had a balcony room and the cabin was actually very nice.
