We were a group of 8 adults, myself and my husband, our 2 daughters together with their boyfriends and my parents. After 3 nights in Rome we boarded the Celebrity Reflection and we just loved the ship from the moment we got on. Me and my husband went exploring on the first day and eventually found our daughters and their boyfriends (all in their 20s) in the games room which they loved. All the staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you.

The food was really good in the buffet and the main dining room. Each evening in the main dining room my one daughter who is allergic to nuts and my other daughter who is vegetarian were able to order their food for the following night (this was mainly for the nut allergy). Unfortunately there were a few mix ups, especially one night when my daughter's food arrived with an almond slice sitting on top of it. This was quickly rectified though. We never had any problems getting a seat in the buffet restaurant.

The entertainment was really good. We went to all the shows in the theatre which we really enjoyed, although depending on where you sat it was sometimes really loud. We also went to the silent disco which was absolutely hilarious. Another night there was a barefoot party on the lawn, which was really good. The only problem with the entertainment anywhere apart from the theatre was that it was always in locations where, unless you were standing at the front, you couldn't see. This seems to be the way that a lot of the cruises are going now and I can't understand why they don't go back to having a show lounge where everyone could see and you could have a good dance. We did a few quizzes and these were good fun.

Lovely aft cabin.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

We spent 3 nights in Rome before the cruise and saw all the usual sights. Best place was the Orange Garden at sunset together with the keyhole further up the road. Such a beautiful place.

Taormina (Messina)

We just walked into Messina and watched the clock chiming. It was a good performance but I wish we'd gone to Taormina.

Mykonos

Walked into town and looked around the beautiful white streets and the windmills. After lunch we walked to Agios Stefano beach over the hill to the left of the port. Lovely beach.

Kusadasi

Took a taxi to Ephesus then did lots of haggling in Kusadasi.

Rhodes

Walked around the walled town then went to Elli Beach where there is a diving board out at sea and all the youngsters show off doing back flips etc.

Santorini

My favourite place. Took the boat round to Oia. The trip included a coach up the hill to Oia then a coach back to Fira when you had finished. We then walked down the steps back to the tenders (nightmare trying to dodge the donkeys and not slip on the steps).

Athens (Piraeus)

Booked a tour with Piraeus Express Bus. Our tour guide, Anna, was wonderful and kept us all amused. We saw all the sites and had time for lunch and shopping at the end.

Naples

Booked to go to Napoli Sotteranea, underground caverns and tunnels that were originally used to store water and then used as bunkers during the war. Our guide, Fabio, was excellent and had us in stitches with his stories.
