We have always wanted to do an Alaska Cruise to see the amazing scenery---however--as we travel all night through the inland passage in British Columbia which we have been through before this was all missed and that was very disappointing. The bathrooms in the public area were not clean and often out of supplies. As I have been on many cruises I try to always use the facilities in my own room , however at times you must use the others---tissue all over, sinks dirty, toilets overflowing.
We were not happy with all the extra charges e.g. the $13.50 per day per person and had not been advised of this before the cruise. Also we had the beverage package but they kept charging us $6.50 per bottle of water in our room. I love to tip for good service but now it is added at 18% so the service has to be extremely good for me to add to that. I have never ever been on a cruise when you went to the dining room (the regular one) where there was an extra charge for certain dishes. I did order steak and lobster one night and believe I was charged an extra $32.95 for that---well I can get that in a regular restaurant for about $42.95 so I am thinking if you order anything that costs over $10 you get charged. I am not a big eater so for me was pleased at the small portions if you ordered all courses, the food was acceptable and well presented but the extra charges were flooring.

I am not saying our cabin steward was bad, however, we must have been last on his list to clean the cabin, a few times it was 2:30 in the afternoon before our cabin was cleaned, I feel this is NCL's problem as they do not have enough staff to take care of the cabins. I don't feel this review covers what I would like to say. The cleanliness was very poor, they would take the dishes off the tables in the lounge, buffet, smoking areas but never washed the tables down, I went to a table in the smoking area early in the morning where someone had spilled coffee, that stain was still there a 9 PM that night. I had to ask them to wipe my table before I would eat there
