This was only my second cruise and my first with my spouse along! We had a very nice Vista Suite that was roomy and quite comfortable.
The onboard presentations were disappointing. I was not interested in purchasing a Tanzanite piece of jewelry or whatever other stones were hawked.
The food was good. Our table mates every night were so much fun! We had a great time at dinner every night, almost had to be thrown out, we all stayed so long talking and laughing!
Our cabin was roomy, clean, comfortable and nicely laid out. We enjoyed our balcony the most. From there, we watched whales, glaciers, the sea, the sun, the horizon! You name it, we didn't care what! We enjoyed relaxing on the balcony. Lovely weather, too!
Our cabin stewards were so attentive and ready to serve. They knew our names the first day.
Although we did not take an excursion, we did disembark and walk around Juneau. We enjoyed some fun shopping and talking to people there.
We walked up and down the very steep streets of Sitka, visited a Russian Orthodox Church at the top of a steep hill! We loved listening to the Deacon tell the history of the church and the contents of the chapel. It was one of our most favorite self guided tours!
We LOVED Ketchikan! Again, we did our self guided tour. We loved visiting with people and shopping. My spouse was getting nervous about the length of time I was spending at the jewelry counter trying on rings. He had already told me that we had only a short time left to get back on the ship. I continued trying on rings. He finally came over, said, "we'll take it" to the jeweler for the ring I was trying on! It was so funny! So, I came home sporting a lovely Neptune Blue Topaz.
