This was our first cruise - after 5 years of waffling and faffing about. Started talking about it 18 months prior to our silver wedding and finally went this August with 28th anniversary coming up in December (!)
In that 5 year period though - we did huge amounts of research via brochures, websites and uploaded You Tube clips and read lots of Cruise Critic reviews - so we felt like seasoned cruisers before even going on our trip.
First of all - don't complain about a Cunard cruise being what it is ..... i,e. a Cunard cruise.
Bigger than it first appears. Good hot shower. Lots of fluffy towels. Lovely toiletries replenished regularly. Could do with more hanging space though particularly given the need to hang long dresses up. Good sized desk with hairdryer and large mirror, Large LCD flatscreen TV with Cunard channels which give details of port excursions, views from the Bridge, guest speaker talks, as well s a range of satellite channels.
Queen size bed with THE most squishy pillows i have ever come across. Best nights sleep i have had in a long time. 2 drawers at the foot of the bed take lots of tops and jumpers and shoes - space under the bed to take our 3 suitcases too.
We were on deck 1 with a large window - so we were closer to the waterline and it was fantastic! Turn down service very night with chocolates on the bed and next days news letter. We were more than happy with the cabin - which also comes with slippers, bathrobes and a safe.
