Sail Date: Aug 2016

We chose this cruise as it was part of our daughter's 21st birthday celebrations. Plus the fact that we sailed on the Explorer last year so expected the same standard and service we've come to expect on our last 6 cruises with Royal Caribbean. However, this was not the case, a very disappointing ship. Sadly I felt dismayed that we had spent more money on an August cruise for less space in our cabin. I will not be booking a cruise in the school holidays again as the ship seemed overfilled with young unsupervised children running about, despite the rules against this.

The whole ship needs a deep clean, new loos, new pool area, and smarter cabins up to the standard of its sister, the Explorer . The staff were not interested in the service towards passengers and on the whole I felt that we were always being harassed to purchase extras. We were not told of the extra surcharge on drinks seeing that we'd prepaid our gratuities this seems unfair. The 'big sell' attitude has put me off further holidays with this cruise line and if it wasn't for the fact we have reached diamond level I would not be booking again. The good points; food in the speciality restaurants was delicious and worth paying the extra for, some of the shows were ok but again not the usual standard. Our cabin was adequate, sheets were old, shower and sink needed updating, even though the ship had apparently been recently renovated.
