This was a nice get away to the Bahamas. First time in 14 Carnival Cruises that we wold be going to Half Moon Cay. Booked this last October while sailing on the Breeze. We wanted a cruise in the summer to fill the gap until the December 2016 Cruise on the Carnival Magic.
Broke the drive down to Charleston into 2 days. Spent one night in Charlotte and then the night before the cruise in Charleston, all with hotel points. Then two nights after in Charleston, again with hotel points, and 1 night in Charlotte with points.
We had the 1130-1200 check in window and arrived at the port and got in the parking line at 10:50 am to drop bags and then wait, wait some more, move 10 feet, wait some more, you get the picture. Took an hour to drop bags, pay for parking, park and walk to the terminal. As a Platinum member, was able to skip many of the lines and go right through.
Nice and plenty of room for an Ocean view room. Only issue was the service only once a day, but hey not a deal breaker.
1 night pre cruise and 2 night post cruise in Charleston. Plenty to keep you busy. Went on 2 carriage rides, 2 ghost walks, the haunted jail and Magnolia Plantation and the Charleston Tea Plantation.
