The food and service aboard ship were excellent! The beverage package really should include various special coffees, however, rather than just alcoholic drinks. We would have liked to have made more of the port-to-port runs during daylight hours, so that we could have seen more of the scenery. Most of these runs were made during the night hours, when we couldn't see anything. The ship offered casual dining in all dining rooms. We liked the flexibility this allowed, but we noticed that the dress code for even the more upscale dining room (the Seven Seas Dining Room) was set pretty low, and wasn't always being enforced. We like to dress for dinner (not necessarily formal dress, but at least shirt and tie for men, and dresses, skirts, or dress slacks for women). We found it very rare to see anyone dressed comparably to the way we were dressed. I suspect our less "casual" manner of dress may have resulted in us receiving better attention and service from the staff. They certainly got to know us by name and provided personal attention.

We had problems upon check-in at the Vancouver pier. Norwegian Cruise Lines' computer system had no record of us. They were able to provide us with our reserved cabin, and with boarding passes, but the pass cards we were issued then led to further problems. When we wanted to order wine with our dinner that evening, the dining room staff had no record that we had pre-purchased the beverage package, and wanted to charge the wine to our shipboard account. It took two days to get this straightened out. We were then issued new pass cards indicating we indeed had purchased the beverage package.

Our stateroom was a bit noisy, from engine room or pump noise coming from somewhere below the cabin. My suggestion: avoid a stateroom near the stern.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Oceanview Porthole Window

Cabin OF

Cabin was very nicely laid out, with lots of closet space, but the cabin was a bit noisy. There was some kind of a pump or machine (outside the cabin, somewhere below?) making a regular loud clunk 24 hours a day.

Port Reviews

Seward

We loved the Town of Seward. The Alaska SeaLife Center was excellent, definitely worth a visit. Seward was also a great town for just walking around in. We would have loved to have had more time here, perhaps to go on some out of town excursions.
