We chose to get married in Bermuda, and sailing on the Dawn to get there seemed convenient and cost effective for us. We ended up bringing over 60 of our friends and family aboard with us. In a word it was AMAZING!!!!! This was for me, and many of my guests, a first time cruising. I have to admit, I was getting nervous as there are A LOT of negative reviews out there on the Dawn. Don't be fooled, if you are a fun, down-to-earth, easy-going person, you will have the time of your life on this cruise!
THE SHIP:
The Dawn recently underwent a refurbish right before we came aboard. It was beautiful! The pool area was a lot of fun- we spent a ton of time on the pool deck. I'll admit the pool could be bigger, but it didn't hinder our experience. Drinks were flowing, music was pumping, and the sun was shining- what's not to like?? The Stardust Theater is very nice, not a bad seat in the house. Bliss Lounge (dance club) was great too, lots of room to dance. One thing important to note, is that I was shocked at how much I could feel the boat moving. It didn't bother me, but if you're someone who gets seasick, I would highly recommend you get the patch. Apparently the seas between Boston and Bermuda are known to be a little rough. Nothing crazy, but I was very surprised as I thought I wouldn't be able to notice it at all.
The cabin was small, but honestly not as small as I was expecting. It was perfect for me and my groom! And like I said earlier in this review, our cabin steward kept it immaculate, so it was just fine. I did like having the porthole at least to see the weather, and for additional light. But in my opinion, I wouldn't splurge for a larger room for only two people...if you're cruising right, you shouldn't be in it much!!!!! :)
Boston was fine, been there a million times- all I cared about was getting on the boat which was easy!
