I went on this cruise because it was convenient and a relative wanted to go. I've cruised on five lines about 20-30 times total. Norwegian has never been more than mediocre, but in the past was at least worth the cost. No longer, they've cheapened the experience.

Why I will never travel on Norwegian again: last year they instituted a service charge of about $8 for room service; early this year they bumped the prices for all beverages into the heavens (can of soda $2.95, can of beer $6.50, shot of liquor $9.50, all with an 18% gratuity added on. i.e. $3.48 total for a can of soda); this cruise, with no prior warning, they have banned bringing ANY beverages on board, no water, no soda, no nothing. Talk about gouging.

The ship is a nice size and reasonably well maintained. I have never had any complaints about the ship's personnel. Food is okay in the free venues, very good in the overpriced specialty dining rooms. I love O'Sheehan's, the 24hr limited menu dining option..
