Sail Date: Aug 2016

This was our first cruise - a bit of a learning curve! A big hiccup at the airport as one of our suitcases was lost and we were just left to our own devices to report it, which we did but we were delayed by over an hour. It was not until we left the airport building that we found a Thompson rep who was actually interested in our predicament. Again once on board the reception staff were very helpful except for the fact that no-one told us it would be possible to leave the ship and visit the town to purchase emergency supplies (luckily it was my husband's case that was missing!). However everyone pulled out the stops and the case was found and delivered before we set sail. Our cabin was a good size and very well fitted and the steward service was excellent with the cabin cleaned daily. I have to say that all the staff provided an excellent and friendly service - and the captain's daily announcements were very informative. The entertainment was really good and in fact the shows were brilliant! There was definitely something for everyone at almost any time of the day. There was plenty of choice for dining and we did not have any problems in being able to get into the dining area of our choice. In fact the only problem we had on this was that there were never enough seats in the Atrium and although we did stand for a while to watch some entertainment we were disappointed not to be able to sit and enjoy the activities there.

We purchased our shore excursions prior to travel as this was the best price but actually I think I should have listened to the talk about the excursions as we might have had more information to make a decision as to which trips to take,

We definitely would cruise with Thompsons again.

Cabin Review

Cabin lower deck with window

Spacious and well appointed cabin with very comfortable bed. The en-suite was compact but acceptable.

Port Reviews

Corsica (Ajaccio)

We were able to walk straight from the ship to the main town which was lovely and there was a mini-train or an open top bus to enjoy a tour of the town and coast line beyond.
