I had heard that Celebrity Cruises were a step above Royal Caribbean (RCCL) , but this is my first Celebrity cruise and I found it far from the same quality as RCCL.
I was disappointed with the representative of the Captains Club as within the first day or so I talked to her about the benefits of being an Elite as this was my first Celebrity cruise and when I mentioned that RCCL had better benefits she called me rude. Subsequently, I kept hearing from other Elite members about events or changes in events I asked her on Day 10 about it. She said it was all in the messages on my phone. Needless to say I had never gotten a message from anyone in the first 10 days of my cruise. So when I told her that I felt she didn't believe me, but ironically starting that night I started getting her messages. So I still don't know what I missed. And there never was any apology or reason given for the oversight.
As a RCCL Diamond Plus = Elite, this is what RCCL gives you that Celebrity does NOT!
Nice size cabin but expected more storage. Only 3 drawers for the normal 2 guests.
Stayed at Courtyard. Very good hotel and close to transportation.
Nice clean town. Places with wifi limited from what we experienced.
This is a tendered port. Cannot walk from port to downtown. Cost for bus was 5 euros.
This is a docked port. Cost of Celebrity bus is $12.00 per day.
This is a docked port. The bus to Blankenberge is 10 euros and the bus to Bruges is 20 euros. However, there is a free bus from the ship to the port gate as you cannot walk through the shipping area. Once at the gate you can take a taxi (heard 50 euros to Bruges) or be creative and take a local bus or train to one of the local cities. This port dock time was 0800-1530.
