We chose this cruise as it had several ports we'd not yet visited. Overall, the cruise was very nice. The Escape is a fairly new ship.

The dining rooms are well appointed, so much so you often forget you're on a ship. The music in the dining rooms was great, if not too loud. This is a general comment all over the ship. Anytime there's music being played, it is loud. Good music doesn't need to be played loud. The food is very good or at least we thought so-lots of variety. Service was really good too.

My one single complaint is that on a ship as big as the Escape, there is really only one pool for the masses. Other ships have two or more pools and given the same amount of people on board, it at least feels more spacious when people opt to move around the ship. There's a rope climbing venue, several fund water slides, and plenty to do, but again, only one pool. On sea days it is really noticeable. The pool is always very crowded. Deck chairs go fast so be sure to stake one out real early.

Balcony Stateroom

Nice, but very small for the three of us.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

We opted to take a cab to a snorkeling catmaran about 30 minutes away. On the way there, I had second thoughts about going snorkeling on an organized trip again as the previous days adventure in Roatan was expensive and lackluster. So I asked the cab driver if there were any other options. He stopped at SkyBeach, where we got a snorkel, mask a free 5 minute massage and a margarita for $15. Best deal in Cozumel!
