We recently returned from the 14 Night British Isles Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette. We were very fortunate to have great weather overall. In fact the captain said we finally brought summer to Scotland. The seas were smooth, and we could visit every port. Having sailed many times before, we are experienced cruisers. The ship was lovely. The crew went beyond to be helpful and welcoming. The service was excellent.

Our favorite activity was the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Thankfully we managed to get our own tickets and had excellent seats. Also we got our transfer tickets through a fellow cruiser on Cruise Critic, who kindly obtained three buses for the event. The biggest criticism of Celebrity was their tendering in ports. The night of the Tattoo, many didn't get back to the ship until well after 2 A.M. Anytime we had to get off the ship with a tender, especially in the beginning of the cruise, there were long lines and a hassle. They did not have enough boats available. They need a better system. People were unhappy.

Most of our shore excursions were privately booked on the Internet not with the ship. We especially liked the WOW Tour in the Scottish Highlands. I would highly recommend them. We also enjoyed the Fab4 Black Cab Tour in Liverpool with Allen F. My friend who was with us, loves the Beatles ,so we took this tour on a rainy morning in Liverpool. It was so much fun. She spent her birthday visiting the childhood homes of the Beatles. That night the ship had a Beatles band for entertainment. They lit the theater up. The entertainment was good. The first night there was an excellent entertainer who was on Scotland Has Talent. She was wonderful. The production shows were just okay.
