First time to Alaska. Agreed on by all participants. We knew going in that it was not a Caribbean cruise, the weather was going to be cool and rainy. It was. Everything was as promised. Nothing was extraordinary, nothing unexpected. No problems at all.

The cruise:This was one of those cruises where the ship was more interesting than the ports. Except Juneau and the whales. Our helicopter/glacier tour was cancelled by The Weather. But the whale trip that we scrambled to get was awesome! It was through a private vendor, not the ship. And Hubbard glacier is indescribable.

The ports:I see no reason to ever stop at Icy Straights.( It must be a contract to enrich the local economy or you can't sail here).

Newton kept the room clean and tidy ,kept me in ice every day, and helped with a laundry problem. 7146 is starboard, close to the elevators with no elevator noise.

Waste of time to stop here

Vancouver

We arrived in Vancouver several days ahead of sailing and arranged our activities on our own.
