Some background: this was an adult only trip, with my sister and I traveling alone as we left the kids at home with the hubbies. I have cruised 10 times before on CCL, RCCL once and Disney once. My sister had done 1 CCL prior to this.embarkation:As promised, embarkation went very well. We got to the port at 1:45 and were on the ship by 2:10. we went right to the Bistro specialty restaurant to make our reservations for dinner. We were able to get reservations for all 3 nights of the cruise (some reportedly can only make them for two days). We were able to get our chosen times (between 7:45 and 8:15) for all three restaurants. We made it to our room, dropped our luggage, got in our swimsuits and went to the buffet for a quick lunch. we did get the champagne and appetizers on the way in.Cabin: small but efficient for 2 people. Three would be pushing it, imho, because of the room size and storage space. There were no courtesy products other than a lotion and soap/shampoo in a dispenser. The TV was seriously antiquated, and did not have network programming (not a big deal), just ESPN, FOX, CNN, etc. We missed muster drill because we did not get to our room on time.Decks: There were 2 pools and a splash area in the front; pools were not overly crowded; there were very few kids on this cruise, but they did use the adults-only pool so that did not seem to be enforced as a rule. Bar service was frequent, my one complaint would be they stack the chairs waaayyyy early (around 5pm) and if you show up on deck later than that you have to drag your own chair out. The sundeck was closed the entire time of our cruise (deck 13 forward)Food: we tried all 3 specialty restaurants; I preferred the steakhouse (Cagney's) for its filet mignon. My sister preferred the bistro where the foie gras and lamb were apparently to die for. The italian restaurant was ok, not great. We used the dining room (Crossings) for breakfast and it was ok. Buffet was also very good for lunch and breakfastGym: we only used the treadmills; they had TV's on them, and the gym was very quiet, I guess 3-day cruises have less of a gym attendance record. we did not use any spa servicesExcursions: we did not do any ship excursions; we took a cab to the Wyndham in Nassau and used their facilities and buffet lunch for the $40 daily rate. Buffet was good but employees were rude. The cab ride was $5 pp or $20 if you do not want to wait for other people. The day was verryyyyy windy so the beach was quiet, and we had a little hut for shade. The ride back was a flat fee of $15. The Straw market was closed for renovations. In Great Stirrup Cay we got to the island on the 1st tender around 8:15 Am (highly recommended) and got a spot at the end of the beach. The beach got EXTREMELY crowded between 11:20 and 2pm. We witnessed parasol theft. The GSC BBQ was pretty ordinary and no juices were offered (I have been on RCCL and Disney's private islands and the BBQ's were much better). we walked the little hike past the lighthouse to another beach (about 2 miles); beware the critters in the grass (we saw several iguanas). We left the island on the last tender. Overall a great relaxing day.Debarkation: I don;t know if it was because the Sky was on its way to drydock but we were not rushed off at all like I have been on CCL, RCCL and Disney. We did not have to leave our staterooms until final call (10 am), and we were able to get a sitdown breakfast until 9am. We got off around 9:30 and caught an Alamo shuttle to our rental car as we were staying an extra night in Miami.Overall a very pleasant experience; as a seasoned cruiser I really appreciated the freestyle aspect of not having a set dinner time and being more relaxed. The specialty restaurants were well worth it and the ship was very pleasantly decorated. Staff were nice, fellow passengers were not too much of a party crowd, except for the late night people who would scream in the hallway at all hours of the night (but you get that everywhere, nothing NCl can do about it).we would definitely like to try NCl again on a newer ship for a 7-day cruise with our families!
