I chose this cruise for the itinerary and I was not disappointed. They had to skip Santorini due to high winds in that port (which the captain decided would preclude tendering) and they went to Crete instead. I have never been to Santorini so I don't know what I missed but I do know that Crete was lovely. We were very happy with how that turned out.

We got a promotion for half off the ticket for the second person and I thought the price was very reasonable for what we received.

I had never cruised before so it was all new to me. I thought that RC did an outstanding job with all aspects of the trip. Every single staff person was good-natured and did all they could to help. I had a problem with noisy neighbors and not only did RC repeatedly check in with me to see if the problem was continuing, they gave me a certificate for 20% off my next cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E2

The room was around the size you would get in a boutique hotel. Maybe a bit smaller but not by much. I thought it was plenty spacious enough. There was a small couch with a table, a desk area with its own chair and the bed area. There were plenty of drawers and closet space. I have nothing bad to say about the room. We loved it.

Port Reviews

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

The ship actually docked in La Spezia. This was the only port that I used the cruise line for an excursion as I couldn't find any other company that did excursions from La Spezia. They all went out of Livorno. We were there on a Monday so all of the museums were closed which was a huge disappointment. The excursion was little more than a nice bus trip from port to Florence. But the bus was clean and the guide was pleasant and informative. The day we were in Florence was hot and crowded so I did not have the greatest experience there but that was not the fault of the cruise line or the excursion providers. It was just that the museums were closed which was a reall buzzkill.

Cannes

We went straight to Monaco on the public train. Very easy to do and Monaco was one of the trip highlights. I did not find much to see in the port area of Cannes. We did do some shopping there after we got back from Monaco and that was nice.

Barcelona

We got to Barcelona a day early and did a lot of exploring of the city. We loved it. Of course we toured Sagrada Familia which is a wonder of the world. Just a must see. But the entire city was very pleasurable. Clean, scenic and nice. We plan to go back some day.
